Artist & Contact

John has worked with wood all of his life and spent the past several years creating limited-edition and one-of-a-kind boxes and cremation urns from gorgeous and exotic woods. John has always felt that his boxes needed a purpose and he started making and marketing custom cremation urns in 2009. These days he spends much of his time  designing and creating one-of-a-kind rocking chairs. Originally inspired by Sam Maloof, John’s chairs have a signature style that is innovative and original. Asymmetric fluid lines, curves, waves and unique use of wood grains are characteristic of his designs and are used in much of his artistic work. Eye-catching exotic and domestic hardwoods complement the often asymmetric fluid lines of these extremely comfortable chairs. Each chair evolves as it is being created, much like a sculptor carving in stone. John's goal is to design and create a chair that is not only artistic and beautiful, but also exceptionally comfortable. As each chair is usability tested repeatedly during the creative process.  Hand-rubbed oil varnish brings out the natural beauty and color of the wood, creating a finish that is as smooth as glass.

John’s rocking chairs vary in size, materials and design and each chair is sculpted and engineered for comfort. John has created chairs in African Padauk, Big Leaf Maple, Claro Walnut and Cherry.

Everlasting Tree Urns

In 2009, John and his wife Heidi started a small business creating and marketing unique, one-of-a-kind cremation urns. After experiencing the loss of several dear friends and family members, John and Heidi realized that there are limited choices for someone who wants to purchase a beautiful and unique cremation or memorial urn for a loved one. They quickly realized there is a real need and a promising market for these wonderful and unique cremation urns and keepsake memory boxes. This product serves a very special purpose at a time of great loss and sadness for many, and has been enthusiastically received thus far.  Everlasting Tree urns can also be purchased on Etsy.com.
